The Companies Quietly Writing Hydrogen Aviation’s Rulebook

The clearest evidence that a hydrogen-aviation company is serious may not be a rendering, a fundraising announcement, or a flight-test video. It may be the engineers the company assigns to standards work.

At a recent coordination meeting of SAE AE-7F and EUROCAE WG-80, participants reviewed the documents now moving through the hydrogen and fuel-cell standards pipeline. The discussion offered a useful view of where the industry is spending real technical effort—and where difficult questions remain open.
